When design your new home, start with a floor plan and a measured drawing of the space when you're ready to buy bedroom furniture. Furniture, especially bedroom furniture, should complement the space in which it is placed. In a small bedroom, avoid a large, bulky bed and dresser. A tall headboard will help to visually bring the ceiling down to scale if it is high.
