After the tragedy of August 4th 2020 in Beirut Lebanon, more than 300 000 people were left without shelter and basic needs for survival. For that, i decided to design a project that would provide the people of Beirut with a shelter and essential needs.
"Beirut Kitchen" acts as a kitchen for the area, taking the concept of food as a survival element in today’s crisis.
Fresh vegetables and ingredients that reach the project can be sold in the market place or taken to the kitchen to start the food preparation process. The food preparation follows different steps and on many levels before reaching an exterior bar. People in the project can take the food and sit on the gradins that are accessible from a ramp.
The project can house local chefs working in the kitchen and a certain number of families on the verge of homelessness.
On the long run, the project becomes a business hub and a platform for international brands to share
and collaborate with the local kitchen through an exchange of local-international chefs.
